Vyew offers a free online meeting service for up to 10 participants. With this free version, advertising banners are shown on the user console.
Vyew provides the user with two basic alternatives: either the moderator imports a document that is presented during the web meeting or he presents his desktop with all open applications. With the first alternative the moderator and participants can mark the document with comments - but not edit it. With the second alternative only the user whose desktop is released can edit the documents as the mouse and keyboard control cannot be transferred.
Vyew is not integrated with Outlook and therefore requires email contact addresses to be added manually when inviting participants to a meeting.
Finally, it should be noted that data will be encrypted only for enterprise clients.
Bottom line: The solution is only suitable for web presentations that focus on "one-way" communication - but not for virtual collaboration.
Flash Application - FlashPlayer 9+ required; desktop sharing or screen capture requires Java 1.6 or higher, supported browsers include Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari
Free-of-charge with advertising; "Plus": from US$ 6.95 per month (meetings with up to 10 participants, limited to 50 online meeting rooms); "Professional": from US$ 13.95 per month (meetings with up to 15 participants, limited to 150 online meeting rooms)
Single user license for an unlimited number of web meetings. The maximum possible number of attendees depends on the license.
Voice over IP and phone costs
Integrated conference call without local dial-in numbers (only US numbers available) and VoIP
Very heavily restricted option for joint work on documents at the same time.
A Vyew Book must be created for each meeting; this is restricted depending on the license model. Support options are available
Fault: Invitation process not linked with the local email client so email addresses have to be added manually.
Browser-based solution (no cost of installation)
Pricing and license options are publicly available; cost structure is transparent and easy to understand
128-bit SSL encryption (only available to enterprise customers)
Browser-based Flash Client for Windows, Mac and Linux
|Overall Score||7.60 / 10|
