Intercall Unified Meeting Review

InterCall boasts a large set of features and functionalities. The meeting host can make sure that the handling of the software is not too complex by defining individual settings per online meeting, or by generally defining the set of functionalities he most frequently needs.

To manage web conferences, the host can utilize his locally installed online meeting software or the web portal. In the web portal the host can maintain his meeting calendar, create polls in advance, or browse the archive of his recorded online meetings - and these are only some exemplary features. Web conferences can be easily scheduled via an Outlook add-in.

The Windows taskbar allows the host to start ad hoc meetings with one click. A bothersome detail is that after creating an ad hoc meeting you are asked to define what kind of phone conference will be needed and what the purpose of the web conference is, before the actual web meeting console opens.

The video feature is the tool’s weak point. Host and attendees can only have a video conference if they have InterCall Unified Meeting locally installed. In addition, the person’s video is displayed in a small window in the web console. Moreover, the usage of the program is not always intuitve – for example the setup of surveys.

Bottom line: InterCall is a decent web conferencing software but lacks a video conferencing functionality.
